“Healed for Freedom” – a rehabilitation program to support homeless people addicted to alcohol, is an innovative multidimensional program of psychophysical and spiritual rehabilitation of homeless people – alcohol addicts and their resocialization. This includes re-acquiring work habits, returning to the world of work and achieving permanent accommodation. Along with the rehabilitation and social integration of the target group, the program achieves the prevention of chronic conditions through early intervention.

The program includes:

  1. Stabilization of physical health, systematic monitoring of health status, physical activation and rehabilitation
  2. Improving mental and spiritual health and the work of a therapeutic group for the recovery of people with drinking problems
  3. Increasing employability
  4. Individual user monitoring
  5. Strengthening the capacity of experts

The program is complementary to the services of the Day Center for the Homeless “Haven House” and outreach services, as well as other relevant programs provided by Depaul Croatia in Rijeka.

The three-year program is funded by the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and the partners and collaborators on the project are the Center for Hagiotherapy – Rijeka, Home for Adults Turnić, Center for Social Welfare – Rijeka.
