On March 22, the Administrative Department for Social Policy and Youth of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, led by its leader Dragica Marač, visited our Homeless Garden (H-Garden), located in Osječka Street in Rijeka, near the day center for the homeless Haven House. The program is carried out by users of Depaul Croatia services, volunteers and employees, and persons involved in probation. The program started in March 2020 and was financed with funds from the European Social Fund for a two-year period. After the formal completion of the project, the planned activities go towards achieving self-sustainability by developing additional activities and focusing on social entrepreneurship, which includes the distribution of products. H-Garden offers the following products: seedlings (vegetables, flowers, herbs and aromatic plants, etc.), humus from California earthworms, bio enzyme (organic liquid fertilizer). The participants of the program participate in “green” fairs organized in the Rijeka area and offer H-Garden products in this way as well.
