Participating in the activities of the Assembly of Depaul Croatia Association in the best sense, I personally deepened that sentence of St. Vinko Paulski: “Good should be done in a good way.” The Lord truly calls us to “love him in others with all our heart, with all our mind and with all our soul.” All three need to be in balance, and nowhere in my practice so far have I met an organisation that combines all three dimensions in humanitarian work, for which I am immensely grateful and happy. Often organisations have only one or two of these dimensions and the action quickly dissipates and becomes halved, thus the effects become superficial and do not help the whole person in need. In this sense, I can testify that in our Assembly, but also in the whole organisation, we first have a group of people with different talents and capabilities who are truly heard and respected and try to authentically concretise this Vincentian and Christian ideal in practice. For me personally, this diversity is inspiring and dynamic and gives me a firm hope that we will do good to the most needy, and grow and learn on our own, and finally see our own poverty and deepen our Faith.
